If your Republic garbage receptacle has not been picked up please set it out by the road.
They will be in to pick them up twice during the week and the final day will be Saturday.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

 

Scope of Services:  The scope of services provided to the Village of Carleton, MI by the Contractor under (Stevens Disposal and Recycling Services Inc.) the Agreement shall consist of the following:

The pickup day for the garbage/trash will be on Friday's and the containers will not be placed at curbside more than 24 hours before the pickup day. 

The Contractor shall collect all properly prepared and placed trash and yard waste, no less than once per week, from each residential dwelling in the Village.

The Contractor shall not be required to collect and dispose of any garbage/trash or yard waste, which is not placed by the roadside, or which is not placed in an approved curb cart supplied by the Contractor or appropriate yard waste container/method.

The Contractor shall also be required to collect one time per week, a large household/bulky item, such as a furniture item, an appliance, Christmas tree (December 26th to February 1st), water heater, washer dryer, carpeting/padding cut into (4') foot length or less tied and securely bundled no more than (2') feet in diameter.

Appliances containing freon like refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers must have the freon removed and tagged by a licensed appliance technician prior to pick up.

All large/bulky items must be scheduled a minimum of 48 hours prior to service day (Friday) by contacting the Village Office at 734-654-6255 or emailing adminclerk@carletonmi.org and leaving your name and address. 

The contractor shall inform the Village if any individual or resident, places unreasonable amounts of trash or bulky items at the roadside for collection, which in the Contractor's opinion was not generated at the dwelling.

Additionally, the Village shall take the necessary steps, which may include, passage of an ordinance to ensure that all trash and/or bulky items, placed at the curb for collection are being generated at the residents dwelling.

Yard Waste materials will be collected one time per week in customer supplied containers not to exceed 33 gallons in size, with 2 attached handles and labeled yard waste at curbside on the same day as trash/garbage collection.  Containers cannot exceed (50) pounds each.

Branches & tree limbs must be cut into pieces not to exceed (4') feet in length, no single piece shall exceed (4") inches in diameter and tied in bundles not to exceed (2") feet in diameter and (50) pounds per bundle, Dirt and decorative stone are not considered yard waste material.                                                                   

Additional/2nd cart:

A resident can request a 2nd (second) 96-gallon cart for an additional rate of $4.00 a month per dwelling/resident. Billed annually at $48.00

The Carleton Police Department regrets to inform our community that due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in Monroe County that we will not be checking candy this year. Our first priority is for the health and safety of our community and we look forward to bringing back this tradition next year.
